In the south of France at Les Baux de Provence, the Carrieres de Lumieres is nothing short of spectacular. Located in what was once a white limestone quarry, the now exhibition space is truly mind blowing.
Raw textured stonewalls, ceilings, and floors of the quarry are completely covered with large-scale projections, totally immersing the viewer in to an unexpected sensory experience.
The current exhibition, ‘Gauguin, Van Gogh, Painters of Colour’, brings together the unique works of two of the worlds most loved artists and their bold use of colour. The dramatic scale of the space and the intense colours are beautifully overwhelming to say the least.
‘Gauguin, Van Gogh, Painters of Colour’ will run until 6th January 2013.
