The movie Julie and Julia cleverly intertwines the story of Julia Child, early in her culinary career, with the life of Julie Powell, a New York blogger who attempts to recreate all 524 recipes from Julia Child’s cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking.
Throughout the film you can practically taste the culinary masterpieces (particularly the Boeuf Bourguignon). However, Julie and Julia is not only a tribute to food, but a celebration of the beautiful 1960’s country inspired kitchen of Julia Child. The style is characterised by the iconic pegboard which is clad with acres of copper pots and pans, alongside the perfect blue/green cabinets throughout. Perhaps the true centrepiece of the kitchen, however, is the Garland six burner stove – a must in any aspiring chefs kitchen that will have guests lining up for more!
